First we will understand what these file represents and contains:
AppData: AppData or Application data is a hidden folder in Windows 7. It is to protect user data and settings from any unwanted change or deletion. It contains many important data such as program settings, IE cookies, toolbar settings, IE browsing history, temporary files created by applications, Libraries, send to items, templates and many more.
Local: Local folder contains many subfolders. It mainly contains folders related to installed programs. Also there is a folder of Microsoft where you can find history of Windows activities. There is a temp folder which stores all the temporary files. IE temporary files are stored under temporary internet files under Windows folder.
Roaming: Windows computer makes a roaming profile which is stored on a network server. All the data available to roaming profile can be accessed via roaming folder. Type %appdata% in the start menu search box to access the roaming folder. You can find many programs folders inside Roaming. Go to Microsoft –> Windows and you can access many folders such as Libraries, network shortcuts, printer shortcuts, recent items, send to, start menu, templates, themes, etc.
LocalLow: It is mainly for Internet Explorer, Java and Adobe protected mode data.
Note: If you want to open temporary internet files, cookies data, send to data, cache files and history data present inside different folders then you don’t need to go to AppData directory every time. Just click on the Start button, type shell:history to access Internet Explorer browsing history, type shell:cache to access offline cache for Internet Explorer, type shell:cookies to access Internet Explorer cookies data, and typeshell:sendto to add or delete shortcuts to be appear in send to menu.
